10 Years and Going Strong

Hello All!
Pinkpaw and Co. is still and still quilting.  This month we have had the longarm, Kat, for 10 years.  10 years!  That is a lot of quilts.  We thank each and every one of our customers.

In my spare time, I'm still piecing quilts for us and the cats.  Currently I'm doing Pat Sloan's 2016 BOM, the Secret Garden, Hometown Charm by Pat Sloan, the Village, Nana's Afghan by V and Co. and the Splendid Sampler.  I'm sure there is more, that that is enough for now.  Back to piecing!

February Aurifil DOM 2013 Block

Hello!  I already broke my resolution to post at least once a week.  At least it hasn't been a month.  Wednesday I spent most of the afternoon and evening creating February's Aurifil DOM.  Thanks to Pat Sloan for the timely posting of the step-by-step construction of this block.  It was most appreciated.

And Another Quilt Begun

Last month I bought the ruler Hex n More ruler and pre-ordered the pattern Toes in the Sand by JAYBIRD Quilts.  My pattern arrived over the weekend.  I pulled a big stack of blue and white prints from my stash.  I have made two of block 1.  I am happily anticipating learning more about the ruler and the challenge of working with triangles!

Happy January 14, 2013

Happy Monday!  Today's block is the January Block of the 2013 Aurifil Designer of the Month.    I ordered some new fabric from this collection by Pat Bravo for this one and will add some more fabric from my stash.  The fabric is presenting quite the challenge for me.  I am not used to working with many big prints in one blocks.  Yesterday I spent quite a bit of time trying to decide on the fabrics for this block.  Today I made the block.  After all the angst and struggle, I am amazingly happy with the block.  I can't wait for the February block.

I had a great mail day last Thursday.  Last year I won a prize for participating in the Aurifil Designers Ornament Blog Hop.  My prize arrived last Thursday.  It was a beautiful selection of Aurifil Thread.
Eye Candy by Pat Bravo!  So exciting!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  I'm excited to welcome 2013.  We spent New Year's Day in Destin, FL, and now we are home and ready to start the year.  I'm planning on participating in at least 4 BOM's this year.  I've made my first block in the Craftsy 2013 BOM,

and my first block of the Sugar Block from Stitchery Dickory Dock.

My plan is to make one block every Monday.  If I do more than four, then I will have to do several blocks every Monday.
